Smart Irrigation System
The Smart Irrigation project is an automated agricultural system integrating ESP32 microcontrollers with a mobile dashboard to continuously measure soil moisture and automate watering pumps.

Project Overview
An IoT agricultural automation solution that uses real-time soil data to automate irrigation schedules.
The Problem
Traditional farming relies on guesswork or manual timers for watering crops, resulting in under-watering or over-watering.
The Solution
Soil moisture and environmental sensors transmit live readings to an ESP32 microcontroller, which automatically triggers water pumps when moisture drops below threshold levels.
System Architecture
ESP32 microcontrollers programmed in C++/Arduino, transmitting telemetry via MQTT protocol to a backend database, with a Flutter app for remote monitoring.
Key Technical Challenges
Ensuring long battery life for remote sensor nodes located in fields and maintaining wireless connectivity.
Lessons Learned
Implementing deep-sleep intervals on the ESP32 and scheduling periodic readings extended sensor battery lifespan significantly.
